Under the informal punishment system, punishments meted out may include administrative measures such as performing extra duties or serving a weekend confinement.
There will be no records of informal punishment. These records will not follow a Full-time National Serviceman upon leaving his unit on his Operationally-Ready Date (“ORD”).
Formal punishment
If the offence committed is of a more serious nature, the serviceman/woman may be formally dealt with by his/her Disciplinary Officer by way of a summary trial or be brought before a subordinate military court, i.e. the General Court Martial.
